Voyageurs National Park in northern Minnesota is a water-based park of interconnected lakes, islands, and boreal forest along the Canadian border, reached almost entirely by boat or canoe. A camping permit reserves a specific boat-in or hike-to campsite for your group across Rainy, Kabetogama, Namakan, and Sand Point Lakes. Because each site is a single reservable unit and the whole summer season is released at once, popular sites and weekends fill quickly.
